Primary Practice Areas

Estate Planning

Regardless of age or status, all of us should have estate planning documents prepared for the unexpected. Wills, Trust, Power of Attorneys, and Health Care Directives are a few documents that can prepare you and your family for any situation. James is an experienced Estate Attorney and has drafted thousands of estate planning documents for client and is happy to assist you and your family in making these important decisions.

Family Law

The Bible says, one man and one woman – unfortunately, this “till death do us part” does not always hold true. Seven percent of marriages in Oklahoma end in divorce, which is a tragic statistic. James has gone through divorce himself before and understands the toll it can have on your life. He understands the frustration, confusion, and difficulties that can derive from divorce. Legal issues such as separation, divorce, support, child visitation, child custody, and property division are complicated and require the advice of an experienced Divorce Attorney. These issues are complicated and can overwhelm every part of your life. James has represented hundreds of clients going through separation and divorce helping his clients achieve results and closure to difficult life situations.

Contract Law

Contracts are essential to our society and life, from the purchase of your vehicle, equine sale, equine boarding, hunting leases, land leases, to the mortgage on your home, contracts are necessary. Like many legal issues, contracts can be confusing and require the need of an experienced attorney to help navigate the process.  James is experienced and happy to assist you in the review, formation, or ratification of your contracts.

Military Family Law

James also has extensive experience representing our servicemembers and their families in family law matters. Military divorce is unique in that servicemembers deploy often, which can complicate divorce filings, child custody, and child visitation matters. Military pension division also required a trained and skilled attorney with experience in this area, all of which James has years of experience. James has represented hundreds of military members through military divorce and separation.

Military Law

James has years of experience in the following military legal issues: Boards of Separations, Board of Inquires, Board of Correction of Naval Records, and Court-Martials. While in the Marine Corps, James served as a prosecutor, military defense counsel, and family law attorney. James has been successful in Board of Correction of Naval Records for our service members in recharacterizing discharges, upgrading promotions, and obtaining the Post-9/11 G.I. Bill benefits.
